Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NotReallyThatFunny ("we", "us") handles information in connection with our software that publishes videos to our own TikTok account using the TikTok Content Posting API. We collect as little as possible and never sell data.
1. Information we collect
TikTok authorization data
When the account owner connects a TikTok account, TikTok provides us with OAuth credentials: an access token, a refresh token, and a TikTok account identifier (open_id) and the granted scopes. These are used solely to publish content to that connected account.
Content you create
We process the video files and their captions/metadata that are uploaded to the connected TikTok account. This content is created by us for our own channel.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not read, store, or process other TikTok users' data.
- We do not access your followers, messages, or analytics.
- We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising on this site.
2. How we use information
- To authenticate with TikTok and keep the session valid (token refresh).
- To upload videos to the connected TikTok account via the Content Posting API.
We do not use this information for profiling, advertising, or any purpose beyond operating the publishing workflow described on our home page.
3. How information is stored
OAuth tokens are stored on infrastructure controlled by the account owner and are used only to call the TikTok API. We do not share tokens with third parties. Access is limited to the account owner operating the tool.
4. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. Data is shared only with TikTok, as required to operate the integration, and only as needed to fulfill API requests you initiate. We may disclose information if required by law.
5. Data retention & deletion
Tokens are retained only while an account remains connected. You can revoke access at any time by removing NotReallyThatFunny from your TikTok app permissions (Settings → Security & permissions → Apps), which invalidates the tokens, or by deleting them locally. To request deletion of any stored data, follow Data Deletion or email us. See also TikTok's own Privacy Policy.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect credentials, including keeping secrets out of source control and limiting access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
This service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
